Located on the Tropic of Cancer along the Taiwan Strait, Chiayi County boasts an exceptional terroir shaped by microclimates and irrigation systems, yielding diverse agricultural products. However, extreme weather and an aging population have threatened its fertile farming industry. In November 2024, I was commissioned by the Cultural and Tourism Bureau of Chiayi County to photograph eight farms as part of an initiative to promote local produce through the farm-to-table movement. Collaborating with local chefs, our editorial team published “Farm-to-Table 從產地到餐桌”, a book that guides readers in incorporating these regional ingredients into creative dishes.
